Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Operate company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.
• Transport personnel, goods, and/or equipment to designated locations punctually and efficiently.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues, damages, or incidents to management immediately.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the interior and exterior of the assigned vehicle.
• Ensure all required documentation (logbooks, delivery notes, service checklists) is accurately completed and submitted on time.
• Plan travel routes effectively using GPS systems or local knowledge to avoid delays.
• Load and unload goods where required, ensuring items are handled with care.
• Represent the company in a courteous and professional manner when dealing with customers, suppliers, or members of the public.
• Comply with safety protocols, including the use of seatbelts, securing cargo, and adhering to COVID-19 or other health regulations if applicable.
• Collaborate with dispatchers, operations staff, and other drivers to optimise route scheduling and daily productivity.
Minimum Job Requirements:
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
• A valid South African driver’s licence (Code 8, 10 or 14 depending on the role – must be specified on application).
• At least 2 years of professional driving experience with traceable references.
• A clean driving record – no criminal offences, suspensions, or history of reckless driving.
• Excellent time management and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight schedules.
• Good communication skills, including the ability to understand and follow instructions in English (written and spoken).
• Physically fit and able to sit, drive, load/unload, and operate for extended periods.
• Professional appearance and behaviour at all times – uniform and grooming may be required.
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations, traffic laws, and local road networks, especially in and around Gauteng.
• Ability to use mobile navigation apps and digital delivery/tracking tools where necessary.
Preferred Attributes (Not Mandatory but Advantageous):
• Experience driving in a logistics, delivery, chauffeur, or corporate transportation role.
• Basic mechanical skills for handling minor vehicle issues (e.g., checking oil, changing a tyre).
• Previous training or certification in defensive driving, road safety, or first aid.
• Familiarity with documentation procedures such as delivery slips, invoices, waybills, and fleet logs.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or public holidays when required.

• This position is based primarily on the road and requires long hours of driving.
• You may be required to operate in various weather conditions and traffic scenarios.
• Safety gear, uniforms, and company training may be provided where appropriate.
