Job Description: Picker Packer
Starke Ayres needs a detail-oriented and diligent Picker Packer to fill the gap within their logistics and warehouse department. The position holder will be expected to pick the appropriate products, package them appropriately, and deliver them promptly to stores and customers. Physical endurance, perception, precision, and utmost caution are needed to get the job done.
You will be enhancing day-to-day operations to ensure smooth factory-to-factory supply chain for the company as a Picker Packer. You will become a part of a dynamic organization by following in-house procedures and utilizing your skills towards making the workplace clean and organized to supply and process products smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Your Key Responsibilities will include, but not restricted to:
- Order Picking: Pick multiple merchandise from order slips or scanning systems accurately.
- Packing: Palletize items into protective packaging, case up accurately, and pack as necessary to send out.
- Stock Control: Monitor quantities and assist in replacing and rotating inventory as necessary.
- Dispatch Preparation: Case for transport, coordinate pick-up time windows, and assist in preparing accurate documentation.
- Stock Support: Reporting which is done in reference to stock takes, reporting off stocks, and reporting.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Enhancing the safety and health procedures as mandated by the company requirement of creating a healthy work environment.
- Teamwork: Facilitating coordination among team members, supervisors, and logisticians in offering successful work and productivity flows.
- Housekeeping: Your work space should always be clean and tidy, together with safety and well-maintained.
Qualifications and Requirements
The following are the minimum requirements that need to be met by the applicants to shortlist for this job:
Educational Requirement:
Matric Certificate / Grade 12.
Experience:
Any ware house, distribution center, or any log experience will be beneficial.
Pick, pack, or general stock handling background will be beneficial.
Skills and Traits:
High order accuracy and detail.
- Physically capable of standing, walking, and lifting weights during the day.
- Planning and time management skill.
- Team work interpersonal relations and communications ability.
- Capable of working at extremely high pressure within time for regular meetings.
Safety consciousness and workplace cleanliness. - Can apply instructions either in writing or verbally with delegation.
Work Conditions
- Workplace where the working station shall be at Kempton Park, Gauteng, warehouse of Starke Ayres.
- Standard working hours with potential additional overtime during season peak.
- Safety uniform or equipment can be worn but must comply with company safety program.
Salary Range
- Market payment rate
- Pay package negotiable at interview and dependent on experience and qualifications.
