Job Description:
DHL Supply Chain offers 45 internships to South African youth under the YES 4 Youth Programme. The program aims to equip unemployed South African youth professional work experience and professional skills to acquire long-term jobs.
You would be placed as a YES intern into operating units and familiarize yourself with warehousing activities, supply chain operations, and administration support operations. The students would be cross-transferred between departments and learn through operating logisticking environment on-the-job training. It would be best-fit assignment for someone who would learn, serious and committed towards professional and personal development.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Support warehouse operations such as receipting, packing, picking, and stock counting
- Support daily shipping and delivery activities under close supervision
- Support stock counting, quality inspections, and marking
- Support company procedure and safety protocols
- Support data entry and filing administration procedures
- Maintain working areas and storage spaces clean and tidy
- Support colleagues and aid in solving problems
- Support mandatory training and coaching seminars
Note: Department one to be allocated to, responsibilities will differ.
Minimum Requirements Required:
Other than the requirement for this job, applicants must possess the following minimum requirements:
Mandatory requirements:
•south African citizenship and identification
•age 18–34
•not a student and unemployed
•never having been part of a YES Programme previously
•Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
•Must reside in Kempton Park, Gauteng, or be prepared to move to Kempton Park
- read-in and willing to be a good contributor of a full-time, 12-month programme of training

Scale of Salary:
- Monthly Stipend: R3,800 – R4,500
(Note. It is a development programme and not an opportunity to work. The allowance is for living costs on travel and accommodation only.)
