About the Position
An exciting opportunity has become available for a motivated and enthusiastic Part-Time Sales Assistant to join our growing team in Tzaneen. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the store operates smoothly and that customers receive an exceptional shopping experience at all times. We are looking for someone who is passionate about customer service, enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment, and is eager to develop their skills within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist all customers entering the store in a friendly and professional manner.
- Respond effectively to customer inquiries, providing accurate information about products, promotions, and store policies.
- Ensure that the sales floor is clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times.
- Assist with merchandising activities including setting up displays, restocking shelves, and organizing promotional events.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently, processing sales transactions accurately and handling cash and card payments securely.
- Support inventory control by assisting with stock counts, checking deliveries, and ensuring stock is rotated correctly to minimize loss.
- Resolve customer complaints with patience and professionalism, escalating unresolved issues to management when necessary.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of current products and promotions to upsell and cross-sell where appropriate.
- Follow all company policies and health and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
- Undertake any other duties as required by management to ensure the smooth running of the store.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (minimum educational requirement).
- Previous retail or customer service experience will be highly advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and peak trading periods.
- High level of integrity and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Energetic, positive attitude with a passion for providing outstanding service.
- Basic computer literacy, particularly in the use of POS systems, will be an advantage.
