Sportscene, one of South Africa’s leading fashion retailers, is seeking a motivated, vibrant, and customer-focused Sales Consultant to join our dynamic team at the Golden Walk branch in Germiston. As a Sales Consultant at Sportscene, you will play a vital role in providing an exceptional in-store experience to our customers. You will be responsible for achieving sales targets, maintaining store presentation standards, and promoting a positive brand image at all times. Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service Excellence:
Provide world-class service to customers by understanding their needs, offering expert advice, and ensuring a seamless shopping experience from entry to checkout. - Sales Achievement:
Actively drive and achieve individual and team sales targets through effective selling techniques, upselling, and cross-selling relevant products. - Merchandising and Store Presentation:
Ensure that all merchandise is presented according to company guidelines, maintaining high visual standards, replenishing stock, and keeping displays attractive and appealing. - Stock Management:
Assist with stock receiving, unpacking, and organizing merchandise on the shop floor and stockroom. Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or overstock situations to management. - Point of Sale Operations:
Accurately handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions at the till point. Adhere to all store cash-up and banking procedures at the end of shifts. - Teamwork and Collaboration:
Work effectively with colleagues and management to achieve store goals. Participate actively in team meetings and training sessions. - Product Knowledge:
Stay informed about the latest product trends, launches, and promotions. Communicate product features, benefits, and availability confidently to customers. - Health and Safety Compliance:
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly shopping environment by adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Matric Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- 1–2 years of retail sales experience preferred, especially within the fashion, footwear, or lifestyle retail sector.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Target-driven with a strong focus on achieving daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and shifts as required.
