Position Overview
We are currently looking for dedicated candidates to fill the position of Back of the House Staff at our Wimpy outlet. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the restaurant. As part of the Back of the House team, you will play an essential role in food preparation support, maintaining hygiene, assisting with customer service tasks, and contributing to the overall pleasant dining experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
As a member of the Back of the House team, your daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Customer Assistance:
- Warmly welcome customers as they arrive.
- Escort guests to available tables and assist in seating arrangements when necessary.
- Order Management:
- Accurately take orders based on customer preferences and menu selections.
- Ensure all orders are entered into the system correctly and promptly.
- Process customer payments efficiently and issue correct receipts.
- Workplace Maintenance:
- Maintain a consistently clean and organized working environment at all times.
- Regularly mop floors, sanitize surfaces, and remove any hazards to ensure a safe workplace.
- Monitor stock levels, neatly arrange items, and verify product expiration dates to guarantee freshness and compliance with health regulations.
- Dishwashing and Sanitation:
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize all kitchen utensils, dishes, and cookware.
- Follow strict hygiene protocols to prevent contamination and uphold food safety standards.
- Team Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with fellow team members and management.
- Assist in other operational tasks as needed to ensure the smooth running of the restaurant.
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Experience:
- At least 1 year of previous experience working in a restaurant or fast food environment is required.
- Location:
- Must reside in Midrand, Tembisa, or nearby surrounding areas.
- Applicants must live no more than 20 kilometers away from Big Bird Private Company to ensure punctuality and reliability.
- Education:
- A National Senior Certificate (Matric/Grade 12) is mandatory.
- Personal Attributes:
- Must be energetic, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering outstanding service.
- Punctuality is critical; candidates must consistently arrive on time.
- Must demonstrate high levels of reliability and dedication to assigned tasks.
- Should be willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays if required.
